Programming Contest

The Programming Contest Director manages the contest. The host site will need to make 25 computers available for the contestants and six more in another area for the judges. (If more computers are available, then let the Director know because the number of teams participating could be raised.) However, it is important that all teams have access to comparable hardware and software configurations. The host site will need to verify that all dos/language combinations are supported by the contest management software
During the contest, at most two students are permitted to be at a computer. Since each team has three or four members, work areas must be provided for the students who are not at a computer to use. Submission of programs for judging is ordinarily done over a network via the Web. Judging software must be installed at your site. You might be able to provide a host for the software or it might be installed on a computer that the Director arranges to have brought to your campus.
It is a good idea to contact the Contest Director the summer before to work out logistics. It is recommended that you have a local programming contest coordinator to oversee your local contest responsibilities. See Appendix 5 for an overview of the requirements.

Deadline: 30 days before the conference.
Suggested starting date: 180 days before the conference.
