Badges

You will need to prepare badges for each person that registers. (The Programming Contest Director will prepare badges for students in the programming contest.) Badges can be printed directly from the database. If this isn’t available, you’ll need to create a design and generate the badges yourself.
Be sure to print out some extra blank badges for walk-on registrants. The Registrar can write in the appropriate names. (You won’t want to print badges for walk-ons since you’ll use up a full page of badge stock for each person walk-on.)

Badge holders are available with elastic band that fit around the neck or with pins. (You may also be able to find a sponsor willing to provide neck bands with their name or logo.) In general, the elastic bands are easier on clothing than the badges with pins. Consider putting the bands inside the holder and let the attendee attach the band for themselves. The badge holder is also a good place to put meal tickets and notes for folks getting extra proceedings. By putting all this with the badges, you’ll be able to put together generic packets—that is, packets of materials that is the same for any attendee.

Deadline: 7 days before the conference.

possibly think about creating a stash of generic badge holders attached to a necklace so that the extras/leftovers can be sent to the next host school like we do with the ribbons. (Furman/2011)
