SpeakersYou need to get the opening speaker as well as the banquet speaker as early as possible. It would be preferable to have speakers lined up one year in advance if possible. Typically you will have one local speaker and then one out of town speaker that might have to fly in. This is normally handled by the Speaker Chair.
Keep in mind that some speakers may be very inexpensive. The ACM has a sponsored speaker program. And government agencies such as NSF may provide speakers at no cost. If you have to pay an honorarium or travel costs, then be sure to include them in your budget.
Deadline: 30 days before the conference. Suggested starting date: 180 days before the conference.
